Golden Hour

On a recent trip to the Eastern Cape, @markstry took this amazing photograph of me and I just thought to share it. Also, it's my favourite colour of the season, LOVE LOVE LOVE spearmint!

A take on the LBD...

This is a little dress I picked up for next to nothing that will be a part of many different looks for the summer. I've been looking for a dress like this for a while, I love the maxi low cut and the easy flow of the skirt. Of late, I've become even more in love with gold, so the gold detail on the dress really seals the deal for me.

I paired the dress with a lilac cardigan and some baby pink gem earrings. It was a bit fresh out, so some sheer stockings and my little "desert" Timberland boots. I love these boots, I bought them for Oppikoppi so that my feet could be protected (and warm!) at all times but still be stylish.

I'm also really in love with my new watch - I love the strange copper colour of the face, the fact that it says "Diva" makes me giggle and we all know how I feel about animal print.

Sheer meets Print equals LOVE

I may start saying this a lot, but this really is my most favourite outfit for Spring. This was my first experiment with mixing prints and I'm in love with the result - everyone complimented me on my "dress". This blouse is amazing, I love the organic colours it has and the sheer, oh the sheer! LOVE.

For the accessories, I kept them as close to the colours offered in the outfit, black and gold really look striking with the blouse and compliment the skirt. These shoes are magnificent, a gift from my mother from a trip to Munich. They are suede and a most fantastic shape - I adore how my feet look in them! The bracelet is vintage, another gift from mommy and her old jewellery box. The gorgeous necklace and handbag were birthday gifts from @JanineStrydom. My exquisite earrings were a graduation present from my parents, they have different precious stones that I thought were the perfect compliment to the blouse.

Seriously, LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Grietfest 2012

Saturday 15 September was the coldest spring day I've ever experienced. This day was also home to the one and only Grietfest - an amazing electro music festival with amazing artists like @HAEZER and @phFAT. My fuji instax came along for the ride, and whilst I was limited to five photographs, I think these capture a train of thought of the freezingness that we felt on Saturday night...

V2.0 in photographs...

A huge shout out to all the ladies (and gentleman) that came through to support the good ol' charity do we had on this passed Thursday. This #WardrobeSale was bigger and better than our launch, and with all the proceeds going to Vuleka School, it made a really lovely cause - I knew I could find a way to attach good karma to shopping.

We had lots of new faces as well as those familiar and it was superb to see how far word had spread about the sale. #TheWardrobeSale to be back just in time for Christmas, watch this space...

Special thanks to Erik De Jager and WhatWeWant for all the help and the pretty space that made this event possible, as well as to Wardrobia for supplying the rails, and to my darling Emily - couldn't have done it without you.

The 48 Hour Film Project 2012

So I've been keeping my head down for the last couple of weeks because I've been so crazy busy with work in the real world. And I haven't had a free weekend since forever (and no, my birthday does NOT count because it's a birthday) and this passed one was no different... Except that it was. Team 1.77:1 made an incredible little movie for the 48 Hour Film Project and I would just like to show off a few screen grabs of our amazing cast.

When me and @markstry went to the drawing of the genre on Friday night for the kickoff we were in no way prepared for comedy as a genre. Drama yes, thriller yes, action yes even horror yes. But comedy, really not. And as the luck would have it, @markstry being the very first to draw, drew a comedy! Whilst eyes were beginning to brim with tears, deep breaths were taken and a script was beaten out just in time for the 20h00 call time for the first night shoot.

This film couldn't have been done without the complete support and dedication of our team and to them we are truly thankful! Hopefully we haven't scared them away from doing more projects with us :)

Please follow Lobola Run on twitter for updates on dates for screenings and other cool stuff. In the meantime, diarise 17 - 20 September @ Killarney Mall's Cinecentre!
